I finished watching the movie and the movie works in a subliminal level. There are so many things to interpret, but here are a few things about the movie

It is all in the head.
Be humble and accept what you have
It is not always about what people think of you, it is about what you think of you.
Be happy and grateful with what you have.

I think the movie is one of Ben Stiller's best work.

For the record, Ben Stiller always reminds me of Reality Bites ;) 1993 Washington DC, GeeDub
